This has been bugging me for a while now.
What is the one thing that people love and can easily relate to?
C.A.N.D.Y…and lots of it!
So when Lil’ Wayne or Three Six Mafia come out with new singles about chicks ‘wanting’ or ‘licking’ their lollipop, you don’t have to be gullible to know what they’re talking about…or do you?
What’s the point of using something so simple to describe something so…simple (?).
One of the last songs I heard about candy that was relating to sex that was at least clever, was 50 Cent’s Candy Shop. Even though in the chorus he says: ‘I’ll let you lick the lollipop’ he says in one of the verses:
‘Got the magic stick, I’m the love doctor.’
But then again, using the word ‘stick’ makes it so obvious! Another thing that bothered me was Flo Rida’s new song Sugar. Even though I think it is a little bit better than his usual stuff, he does say, ‘Squeeze the sugar cane on your mouth’
Eh…
Once again, this can work subliminally. A large population of the world loves sugar and the thought of squeezing the cane so that the sugar gets in our mouth, can get our hormones going. Now, I’m not trying to be the love doctor. But this is sickly genius!
In a way, it benefits candy and the artist.
Ridiculous.
Look, we already have an obesity problem here in America, why don’t we subliminally talk about salads or sandwiches. That could go real far! (No Hot Dogs)
There’s another bar out there Lil’ Wayne…and it’s called the salad bar!
